Rockhounding at the Wild Turkey Mine, Valley, WA on July 11-12

Material: Noble Serpentine. Rock is $1.50/lb.

Tools: Much material can just be picked up from the surface, but if you really want to work, then bring some hard rock tools such as 3lb sledge hammer, a few flat chisels, and a pry bar.

Directions from the website: Address to the mine road is 3515 Waitts Lake Road, Valley, WA From Hwy 395 take a left onto Bulldog Creek Road. When it intersects with Hwy 231, take a right and travel to Valley, WA. There take a left onto Waitts Lake Road, and travel around the east side of the lake. Once around it, drive about ½ mile to the green and pink ribbons on the east side of the road and turn right. There will be signs and flagging leading you up the mine road to the site.
